At the meeting Amanada recommended trying a BB-Tai, the mei tai coversion made from Babylonia's BB-Slen wrap. It was heaven. No pinching, no pressure on my lower back, just a perfect fit for me and the wee lad. I was hooked and became obsessed by the need to possess, and so set my sights on getting a BB-Tai as soon as possible. I finally order one after convincing hubby it was not only but necessary but a matter of life and death. Or at least a matter of sanity. No... definitely life and death. It arrived super quickly and with absolutely no fuss. It seemed to take no time at all to break in and I was so happy to have invested in something that made my life not just easier but pleasant too, because it was just the exact right shade of blue grey that I wanted and already super comfy and soft.
Unfortunately, trouble came to paradise when I decided that my BB-Tai was looking particularly mucky and in need of a wash. It was after washing that I discovered a small part of the hem on one of my rails had come undone. Safety being uppermost in my mind, I contacted Babylonia via email, provided a photo of the rail and simply asked if they could mend it for me. 24 hours later I had a reply, stating that they were sorry about the rail and that a replacement was already on its way! My new BB-Tai arrived within the week. And to add to that, the email said I could keep my old BB-Tai and that if I could find someone to fix the rail, that maybe I would want to donate it to my local BWI group. I was even provided with the contact details for BWI of Birmingham. I was floored by such amazing service! There's no way their customer service could have known that I was already a volunteer with BWI, and to have someone go so far out of their way to provide me with contact details was really amazing. Quite a pleasant experience despite my beloved BB-Tai having a minor defect.
Babywearing is such a personal experience and so essential to how I parent my children that the one minor defect could really have cause a major upset, but Babylonia were so helpful and quick to deal with the issue that my disappointment was actually turned into something of a double blessing: a new BB-Tai for me and one for our library. If you wanted to you could say my weeping was turned to dancing. About how many companies can you say that? Not many, but you can definitely say that about Babylonia.
