Name/ages of children: Arlie is 4 years old and Harrison is 10 months
When did you start wearing?: When my son Arlie was 1 month old - March 2011
How did you first hear about/what first brought you to BWI B’ham?: Through a new friend. We were talking about different carriers and how expensive they were. She told me about the meetings and membership and I was so happy to discover it!
Favorite lending library carrier?: So far I have loved the Tula and the Lillebaby Complete, but each month I find another one that is great for different reasons! I like to try them all.
Favorite thing to do while babywearing?: Going for walks, and strangely enough, vacuuming!
Care to give a shout out to someone (doesn’t have to be part of our group) who inspired you or helped you find the babywearing love?: I have to say I am inspired by my Dad. He wore all of us kids on his many hikes in an old school Gerry Backpack style carrier.
Describe your favorite childhood memory: My parents used to take my brother and I out to a cabin deep in the woods for the weekend. It was off the grid and quite a hike to get to. No electricity and no running water. We used oil lanterns for light and a wood burning stove for cooking and warmth. We would go several times throughout the year. We would spend the weekends hiking through the woods, playing cards and reading. Very peaceful and comforting. I really miss that place.
If a friend suddenly dropped by to watch the kids for the rest of the day, what would you end up doing?: I would find a quiet place to read or sleep. Or I would try and sneak in some spa time.
If you had to pick one food to eat every single day for the rest of your life what would it be?: Pasta with tomato sauce.
