The Chapter Support Volunteer (CSV) position was created by Babywearing International to recognize those volunteers who work hard in local chapters but have not been accredited as Volunteer Babywearing Educators (VBEs). We have been fortunate enough to have some really amazing and talented ladies volunteering for us in roles like librarian, treasurer, membership management, and special events. We are thrilled they will now have BWI national membership privileges such as voting rights in elections and access to the Chapter Volunteer Facebook group and Forums.
Without further ado, let’s welcome our new CSVs...
Christi has been a member for the past five years and has been wearing since her first daughter was born. She has recently agreed to be our Co-Librarian, which as you know is a big undertaking. She has been a volunteer leader for the past year and has helped us develop some library documents and guidelines as well as acquired a number of carriers at great prices! She will be training a library committee to help her, takes care of all the library paperwork and looks after our carriers for us. She attends at least two meetings per month and follows up with all overdue and late carriers.
Jazzmine has been a member and volunteer for almost three years. She is a full-time working mom with a two-and-one-half-year old little boy and a one-year-old little girl. Jazzmine has been on the planning committee for our chapter’s new weekend meeting and has been a vital resource to ensure the meeting’s success. Going forward, Jazzmine will be greeting and mentoring new and first time members at our weekend meetings, helping us with administrative tasks, marketing, and more.
Hannah has been a member for the past several months and has a sweet little six-month-old daughter. She has recently agreed to chair our New Member Mentor Program and will be helping to train some of our not-so-new members to mentor our new caregivers. She will be performing regular mentor orientations and has created an excellent guideline document for this. The goal of the program is to help orient new moms who may be overwhelmed by our very big and sometimes chaotic meetings.
Debbie has been a member for several months and is a wonderful and vocal spokesperson for our group. She has an adorable little girl as well. She will be working as a mentor as part of our Member Mentor program as well as helping in other ways with event planning and chapter marketing. We are most excited for her to be working as a mentor for our new and first time members. She will be helping new moms to get acquainted with the chapter, learn the ropes, help them navigate our lending library, and answer non-teaching questions. Her goal is to become a VBE.
Elaine has been a member for the past two years and has been wearing as long, most recently with her second, a 14-month-old little boy. She has recently agreed to become our Co-Coordinator of Memberships. She and her co-coordinator just made the switch from paper to digital format and it’s been a wonderful transition. They have since trained a number of our Mentors to sign people in and orient them to our system. She attends all three of our monthly meetings to ensure we have proper and accurate membership records.
Lindsay has been a member for several months and is a wonderful and vocal spokesperson for our group. She is also a preemie mom with the cutest seven-month-old little boy. We welcome her experience with preemie wearing! She will be working as a mentor as part of our Member Mentor program as well as helping in other ways with a goal of becoming a VBE as she gains in skills and knowledge.
