The RRRR (Reinforced Rear Rebozo Rucksack), or pirate carry, provides reinforced passes for a simple rucksack. If you have a leaner, a leg-straightener or want a little extra support, a RRRR might be for you. It starts off as an off-center rucksack carry, and instead of bring both shoulders under your arms and crossing the tails under baby’s bottom to bring around to the front, you pull the long tail under your arm, spread across baby’s bottom for a reinforcing torso pass, and tie at shoulder or finish with another variation. I still love this carry for my big kids, as it’s just as quick to wrap but provides a little extra support. I like to finish it with a candy cane chest belt (CCCB) to take the pressure off my shoulders and make it look fancy.
Love her hip scoot method here. She also sandwiches the shoulders and finishes with a CCCB
- Keep tension on your short tail as you bring the long tail over your back. This will prevent your carry from sagging.
- Again, make your seat and stand up to settle baby more deeply into the wrap.
- You may have to play around a little to figure out what works best for you when it comes to getting that reinforcing pass spread up high over baby.
